John D. Wittersheim Sculpture Park

This year, Siena Heights University is celebrating its 100th anniversary! The John D. Wittersheim Sculpture Park is celebrating by “changing it up”. Students, alums, and faculty had the chance to design a sculpture to be put on campus, and propose it to the sculpture committee. Here is everything you need to know about the new additions to the sculpture park!

  • A grand total of twenty-seven people applied and nine designs were chosen.

  • The building process will begin at the end of the month.

  • The sculptures will be featured on campus for one year.

  • They will be installed in late April to early May.

  • Faculty and alums will be building their sculptures on their own.

  • Ken Thompson, owner of Flatlanders Sculpture Supply and Art Galleries, will be working with students along with his associates.

  • Some sculptures will be available for sale!

  • This tradition may carry on in upcoming years, depending on what the sculpture committee decides.

  • This project is financed by the John D. Wittersheim Sculpture Park committee, private donations, and volunteers.

Below are the selected models made by students that will be featured in the sculpture park!
