The photography program offers courses in both film-based and digital photography. Beginning level courses emphasize the development of skills and the exploration of various genres. Upper level courses encourage more experimentation and personal investigation. All courses are supplemented with research into historical and contemporary photography. Shooting field trips as well as gallery and museum visits augment classroom instruction.

The darkroom facilities include eleven 4x5 enlargers, non-silver equipment and a finishing area with dry-mount press.

The digital lab includes sixteen Macintosh G5 computer work stations, three scanners, four Epson photo-quality printers, including Epson 7800 and 9800 wide format printers.
